Burly Burger – Home of Great Burgers and Shakes
By McKenzie Otteson content writer for My Local Utah
Burly Burger is one of the top hamburger joints in Northern Utah. With a location in South Weber and one in Ogden, Burly Burger is changing the hamburger experience in Utah. Not only do they have great burgers, but they also have chicken sandwiches, salads, and several sides to go along with your meal. Don’t forget to top it off with one of their delicious shakes. The shakes are massive and are easily shareable—and you no longer must drive all the way to Bear Lake to get a yummy raspberry shake. Just stop by one of the Burly Burger restaurants to quench all your raspberry shake cravings.
Some other things that make Burly Burger a fun and unique experience. They have a challenging meal called “The Brigham” for dine-in customers. If you finish the Brigham, then the meal is on them. The challenge is called The Brigham because, as legend says, 10 of Brigham Young’s wives were named Patty. This massive burger includes 10 burly patties topped with American cheese lettuce tomato, onion, and their signature fry sauce. Eat the entire 10-patty burger, a large order of fries, and a large shake by yourself and the cost of “The Brigham” meal is on the house—although the ambulance ride may not be on the house.
If you’re not feeling up to the Brigham challenge, there is always “The Swanson” burger. Named after the Ron Swanson character from the sitcom Parks and Recreation. The Swanson is a burger topped with bacon, American cheese, and a fried egg. Now if you’ve ever watched the show “Parks and Recreation” you should take into consideration one of his quotes from the show
“Just give me all the bacon and eggs you have.
Wait … I worry what you heard was, ‘Give me a lot of bacon and eggs.’
What I said was, give me all the bacon and eggs you have.”
That’s the same spirit embodied in The Swanson.
“The Farley” burger is named after, yeah you guessed it, former Saturday Night Live cast member Chris Farley. This burger is topped with boneless buffalo chicken strips and blue cheese dressing. “The Paul Bunyan” is topped with beef frank, cheddar cheese, grilled onions, and mushrooms. Looking for something on the sweeter side? How about “The Rock” after namesake Duane “The Rock” Johnson, is basted with a Teriyaki glaze patty topped with grilled pineapple, cheddar cheese, tomato, lettuce, onion, and Mayo. Before we go any further, yes, each burger is given a name that befitting a famous personality and puts a smile on customers’ faces. Other burgers include, “The Duke,” Mr. T,” “The Belushi,” and more.
Just to be sure that you know you are eating an authentic Burly Burger, the restaurant bakes an imprint of their logo on each of their burger buns. Burly Burgers offers its tasty menu options on a dine-in or take-out basis. Online ordering and delivery are also available. Oh, and don’t forget their battered fries—in regular and sweet potato versions.
