Claim Your BusinessThe Janet Quinney Lawson Capitol Theatre has been part of downtown Salt Lake City’s cultural life since it first opened in 1913 under the name Orpheum Theatre. Designed by architect G. Albert Lansburgh in the Italian Renaissance Revival style, the theater seats approximately 1,876 guests and has long served as a gathering place for the performing arts in Utah.
Today the Capitol Theatre is home to resident companies including Ballet West, Utah Opera, and the Children’s Dance Theatre, and its stage has hosted Broadway productions, concerts, ballets, operas, and community events over the decades. Renovations through the years have kept the historic character of the building intact while adding the amenities audiences expect from a modern venue.
Found at 50 West 200 South in Salt Lake City, the Capitol Theatre remains a steady presence on Utah’s performing arts calendar. Call (385) 468-1010 for information on upcoming shows and tickets.
