The theater opened in 1998 as Hale Centre Theatre at Harman Hall and adopted its current identity in 2019 under the management of West Valley Arts. When structural concerns and financial challenges created the possibility of closure in 2024, a community initiative preserved the venue by transferring ownership to the nonprofit West Valley Arts Foundation. Today, the center continues as a local hub for performing arts and cultural enrichment.
