[more+]If you didn't arrange a date during cuffing season, or if you are snuggling up with your honey, join us this Valentine's Day from the safety and comfort of your own home!
From Utah, we have Sammee St. James (they/them), an art world chameleon from drag king to clown to puppeteer; and The Quarantine Queen, Ebola Cherries (she/her), who has been awarded multiple grants for her public health advocacy.
Hailing from Spokane, WA, Holden McGroin-Yaz (he/they) is a disabled drag king specializing in gender nonconforming performance and is happy to share his art with the world as he hasn't been able to perform in person since the pandemic.
Representing the east coast, Snarebear (she/her) is Erie, PA's premiere fire queen. She's sometimes messy, sometimes bearded, and always self-made. Known as the Chanteuse of Southern Maryland, D'Manda Martini (she/her) is a DC-area award nominated actor and costume designer, and the December winner of SLAY THEM, a monthly drag competition at Red Bear Brewing.
Real-life couple Betty What (she/they) and Jazz What (she/they) join the cast from Maryland via Puerto Rico. They inspired each other to start their drag journey together, and have been hosting since their very first night. The Haus of What currently perform in the DMV area and will slay in Oakland, CA on Feb. 24.
Completing our cast all the way from Somerset, UK is Shorti (she/her). Though she be but little she is fierce! She describes herself as the pocket weirdo of the southwest and just had her first live performance a few months ago.
The show will be a campy, love-stuffed mix of Valentine's numbers with a drag flair that can only come from our cast of drag artists!
DIGITAL DRAG IS FOR LOVERS will donate a portion of the proceeds to our sister AkeeLah Blu's tornado relief fund. On January 12 our sister's housing and all of her drag was destroyed and we are trying to help her get back on her feet. Audiences will remember AkeeLah when the world fell in love with her on the Selma, Alabama episode of HBO's WE'RE HERE.
The show will play on Ebola Cherries' YouTube channel, and will be available to watch anytime with the link sent out on Valentine's Day. Send $15 with your email to @MsEbolaCherries on Venmo, PayPal, CashApp, or Zelle (confirmation email MsEbolaCherries@gmail.com). More info can be found with links at bio.link/msebolacherries

García, who arrived in Ogden for his residency on March 1st, has utilized OCA Center’s Studio Lofts to further develop specific concepts within his work, particularly around immigration and the term “alien” as presented in various contexts. His completed body of work is revealed for his solo exhibition, Aim High, at OCA Center on May 5th. The show opens with a public reception from 6-9pm during Ogden’s First Friday Art Stroll, and will remain on display through July 16th. As part of his residency, García spearheaded a community mural project that will also be unveiled at The Monarch in conjunction with his exhibition opening. The mural was created with input and direct participation from local residents, leading to an environmentally themed piece that is specific to Utah.

This exhibition consists of a collectively tie-dyed cloth, representing the Jordan river, and individual self-portraits that express aspects of each student's identity and their connection to water.

This year’s 30th annual birdhouse exhibit has over 100 new birdhouses, all on display along Birdhouse Trail at the Ogden Nature Center, 966 West 12th Street, Ogden. The new additions have been added to over 100 permanent birdhouses, making for a spectacular and colorful display of structures created by local artists.
From bird houses that remind us of Palm Spring’s midcentury modern houses to beautifully crafted cabins an bungalows to seashell and seashore structures, there is something to please visitors of all ages.
The general public is invited to tour the exhibit during the Nature Center’s regular business hours: 9-5 Monday through Friday and Saturday from 9-4. Regular admissions rates apply - $5 for adults and $3 for children. Members of the Ogden Nature Center enjoy free admission, and memberships are available online at www.ogdennaturecenter.org or can be purchased in person at the Visitor Center.
This year’s competition was judged by local artists Deb Marin and Michal Onyon, and birder George Muller.

[more+]Nestled right in the heart of Ogden city, there are over 100 artistic bird abodes waiting to be discovered.

This show will feature images from around the world (including here at home!) focused on holidays, festivals and celebrations. Examples include the obvious such as Christmas, New Year’s Eve, Hanukkah but every culture, country, ethnicity, and religion have their own. These holidays, festivals and celebrations may be unique to peoples, but they are also universal expressions of awe, love, devotion, and happiness . . . Global Joy!
