Made In Utah | Howie's Root Beer
Back in 1969, I remember as a family making homemade root beer from a bottle of root beer extract. We would make it with yeast, sugar, and water and then bottle it in recycled glass bottles. We had a bottle cap machine that would adhere the caps to the class bottles. A few days later, we would open the cold bottle and drink some delicious root beer.
Born out of a desire to create a creamier, smoother root beer, Howard Tanner brewed up the first batch of Howie’s Old-Fashioned Premium Root Beer back in 1989 here in Utah. “Howie” and his brother David set out to get this root beer into the hands of everyone who loves an ice-cold root beer. David Tanner continues to carry out this rich, flavorful family legacy. Rated one of the best by root beer connoisseurs, don’t take our word for it, try it yourself and taste the joyous memories you will feel.
Howie’s brings you a premium product without the premium price. This mellow root beer is a blast from the past, a reminder of slower, simpler times. Our rich, home-style root beer is the perfect blend of nostalgia and newness, with a creamy root beer float flavor. Howie’s premium root beer comes in a 2 liter and a 12oz-12 pack in all Associated Food Stores, such as Maceys, Harmons, Dicks, Wingers, Ridleys, Dans, Fresh Market, Reams, and many others.
At Howie’s, we desire to give back to our community. We do this by featuring and highlighting a public servant once-a-quarter. These are truly premium people. You can suggest nominating someone here:
