Butterfly Release: A Celebration of Loved Ones Lost
By Darren Nelson, feature writer for My Local Utah
Do you have a lost loved one? Have you been looking for a way to honor their memory and share a remembered connection with them? A way to connect the lost loved one with living in your family? A semi-annual butterfly release might be the exact thing you need and could become a tradition of your own family to honor loved ones passed.
A twice-a-year tradition of releasing of butterflies to honor and remember loved ones that have passed is about to happen this September 8th, in Ogden. The Butterfly Release event is put together by Lindquist Mortuaries & Cemeteries in partnership with Intermountain Homecare & Hospice. The event will take place at 6:30 pm at Lindquist Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 East Washington Boulevard, Ogden.
About the Event
This special event is for families and friends to remember loved ones lost. Each family will receive a butterfly to release to celebrate the life of a loved one. There will be a short program that includes music and a message of hope. The program will conclude with the names of loved ones being read with a countdown to the release of the butterflies.
If you would like to honor and remember someone who has passed, you are invited to register for the event. Registration is free. Please bring a photo of your loved one to share on the remembrance tables for this event.
