The Fudge Co. Story
By Lynn Blamires Content Writer for My Local Utah
Great Grandma Hazel
Once upon a time long ago, great grandmother Hazel lived right here in this valley. She knew magic and she used it to make the most wonderful fudge. Her family not only loved her, they loved her fudge and she loved to share it with them.
Grandma Violet
One day she shared the magic of making her fudge with her daughter Violet. One thing about magic is that you can make it grow and that is exactly what Violet did. She added her own magic to that of her mothers and made the fudge even better. Her family not only loved her, they loved her fudge.
Mother Nicole
Then one day her daughter Nicole expressed an interest in learning the art of making fudge. She added her own magic to that of her mothers and made the fudge even better. Her family not only loved her, they loved her fudge.
Daughter Patience
Nicole’s daughter, Patience followed suit and added her own magic to the art of making fudge. Now in the fourth generation, the fudge was now four times better than what her great grandmother Hazel made. She loves to share it with her family who not only love her, they love her fudge.
An Idea Is Born
Then one day in 2019 her family gathered to celebrate the family as they traditionally did and the traditional fudge was served according to tradition. During the partaking of the fudge, one wise one suggested that the fudge was so good that she should package it and sell it.
Well, the idea rolled around in her head. She had many conversations with her husband about it. This was big, it meant starting a company. She knew she couldn’t do it alone and she felt a strong need to bond with her mother.
Testing the Market
With her mother on board, they decided to launch a trial effort. With the combination of her magic and the magic of her mother, they turned out a batch of fudge and went to market.
They came home early because they sold all their fudge. Well, the fire was lit, and they raised their level of fudge making from casual to serious on a scale of occasional to frantic.
A Company Is Born
They needed a name for their company and to their good fortune, The Fudge Co was not being used by anyone and what better name for a fudge company then The Fudge Co?

A Peek Inside “The Fudge Co.”
Now, I will not even try to explain magic because if magic could be explained then it wouldn’t be magic anymore. Let me take you inside the shop.
This is where the magic happens. You won’t see it, but it is there and the proof is in that perfect piece of fudge that will irresistibly slide between your lips.
Patience and her mother will make a four pound batch of fudge. She does not believe in doubling, or tripling a batch. The magic is in the four pound batch. They have this process down to 30 minutes. One of the trickiest parts is to bring the chocolate to a soft candy state and hold it there.
An Unusual Success
Patience gets her best ideas in the middle of the night so she keeps pen and paper close by. One unusual idea came from her mother who wanted to try a Raspberry Lemonade Fudge. Patience wasn’t sure, but she was willing to try it. Using white fudge as a base, it turned out to be a success.
The Fudge Truffle Is Created
I have saved their signature fudge for the last thing I want to tell you about The Fudge Co. They have perfected a product called the Fudge Truffle. Now I have heard of cholate truffles, but not fudge. A quick search on the internet revealed nothing.
A Fudge Truffle is an extra soft and creamy fudge that is hand dipped in chocolate. Not just any chocolate – it has to be chocolate from Guittard. The fudge that is dipped comes in a variety of flavors – Cheesecake, Chocolate, Coffee, Orange, Strawberry, and Vanilla. See you can’t even imagine how this tasty treat will taste.
It takes a team of three to build Fudge Truffles so husband Rone is enlisted to fill the third spot. He doesn’t have the magic, but he does what he is told.
And there you have the story of The Fudge Co. It does have a happy ending, or should I say, “A Happy Beginning.” You can find out more about The Fudge Co at www.the-fudge-co.com.
