Sand Hollow State Park sits along Sand Hollow Road in Hurricane, Utah, and stays open year-round for anyone drawn to red rock scenery and bright blue water. The reservoir gives visitors a place to swim, boat, paddleboard, and cliff jump, all set against sandstone cliffs that make this one of the more scenic spots in southern Utah. Families often combine a beach day with an afternoon in the water, while others come for the surrounding dunes that draw off-highway vehicle riders from across the region.
Beyond the water, Sand Hollow offers over 15,000 acres of dunes at Sand Mountain, where jeeps and UTVs navigate everything from mild trails to soft, more challenging sand. The park includes three campground areas, so overnight stays are easy to pair with a day of paddling, riding, or simply relaxing by the shore. Rentals for kayaks and paddleboards are available at the boat dock, and additional gear can be reserved in advance through shops in nearby Hurricane or St. George.
Managed by Utah State Parks, Sand Hollow State Park continues to serve as a gathering place for campers, boaters, and off-road enthusiasts throughout the year. Call 435-680-0715 or stop by to plan your visit.
