Layton packs their entire celebration into one giant day. Beginning early on the 4th, breakfast is served at the Ed Kenley Amphitheater Plaza from 6:30 to 10 a.m.
Layton takes on a less ambitious approach to Independence Day-run activities. At 7:15 a.m., the WALK begins. At 7:30 a.m. the RUN and MORE FUN LESS RUN begins.
Ellison Park is the site of the All-Star Baseball and Softball games. A half-hour into these games, the flag-raising ceremony begins at the Ed Kenley Theater. With luck, the baseball and softball games will be over so you can make it to the Layton Liberty Days Parade at 10:30 a.m.
You have already lived one whole day and it is only noon, but that is when Surf ‘n Swim opens for a chance to cool off. It is also when activities start at the Layton Commons with concessions, vendor booths, and children’s activities. Stage performances will provide entertainment until 7:30 p.m. Layton Commons will be one hoppin’ place on this day.
Gates open at the Ed Kenley Theater at 7 p.m. for a free concert at 8 p.m. Fireworks start at 10 p.m. Then it is over, and you can go home and get ready for next year. Details are available by clicking here.
