The “Learn & Work in Utah” initiative was launched by the Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED) and its Talent Ready Utah team, in partnership with the Utah System of Higher Education (USHE).
Learn & Work in Utah is a state-wide program that provides tuition assistance for short-term programs at post-secondary institutions for unemployed or underemployed individuals.

Colleges and Universities All Over the State Stand Ready to Help
Each institution may handle registration and qualifications differently. Go to https://business.utah.gov. Go first to the list of colleges and universities. Pick one and see what they have to offer. Instructions to qualify for the training and to receive scholarships covering tuition, books, supplies, and program fees are spelled out.
Look at a Career in the 10.6 Billion Dollar Tourist Trade
Maybe you would like a chance to be a part of Utah’s amazing tourist industry. The Southern Utah University offers a Parks & Tourism certificate that is designed to teach students about Utah’s dynamic tourism industry and help them gain the skills necessary to assist destination employers. Highlights of the certificate include effective customer service skills such as diffusion strategies, communication and relationship management.
Uniquely, this certificate program combines expertise from those who work with the National Parks in southern Utah, as well as some of the region’s outstanding tourism industry experts serving as guest presenters throughout the course. An understanding of Utah’s parks system and hospitality management are also included to prepare participants for jobs in this fun, fast-paced industry.
